If you plan on attending UCSB during the summer, you don't need to go hungry! Residential Dining offers a meal plan for both Summer Sessions A and B. Summer Meal Plan holders can eat at either Carrillo or De La Guerra Dining Commons on the Main Campus when they are open for service. Please see other details below.
What you need to know:

Summer Session B meal plans can be purchased beginning Monday, July 29, and will be sold until Sunday, August 25, 2024.

Summer Session B meal plans are active starting Monday, August 5, and may be used until Saturday, September 14, 2024.

Summer meal plans cannot be changed or canceled once they are purchased.

Meal hours vary in the summer. Dining commons may be open for one to two hours per meal period. Weekly meal schedules are posted on the doors of all dining commons and on our Menus Page.

During Summer Session B the following Dining Commons will be open for service on the following dates: De La Guerra: 8/5/2024 - 9/14/2024 (the last meal served will be lunch) & Carrillo: 8/5/2024 - 8/15/2024 (the last meal served will be breakfast). No meals will be available at Portola Dining Commons.

You decide how many meals you eat each week — your meal count does not “reset” at the end of the week.

One meal (card tap) per meal period only.

The purchase of this meal plan is for the meal plan holder only.

Any unused meals are forfeited at the end of each summer session.

A color photo ACCESS card with an RFID chip that will tap at the dining commons card reader is required for every meal. Cards printed after October 2021 have the necessary RFID chip.

Black & White Access ‘ID’ cards, or cards without an RFID chip are not accepted.

Excess meals are charged to the BARC account at the guest meal rate.

Sack meal service is not available.
NOTE: you may begin accessing meals during the purchasing period for the summer session. It may take up to 5-7 business days before charges appear on your BARC statements. At the dining commons lobby, please present the email confirmation received to your umail account as a meal plan proof of purchase until the meal plan has been assigned to your Access card.
